Wingate - Carlos J. Goode, 61, employed 29 years at the Alcoa plant at Lafayette, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after an illness of several months. Mr. Goode was a member of Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, F@AM Lodge 633 and Eastern Star Chapter 366. A past master of the Wingate lodge, he was serving as worthy patron of the OES. a native of Kentucky, he was a son of George and Hester Hall Goode and was born June 4, 1909. He was married to Lucinda Jane Mitchell on Feb. 5, 1931 at Danville, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hester Smith of Wingate; a son, Carlos Lee Goode of 505 Prospect St, Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Oswalt of Wingate, five grandchildren, a brother Hollie C. Goode of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Williams of Indianapolis and Mrs. Nell Wright of Sheridan, and nieces and nephews. Mr. Goode's father died in 1948. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Homer Hunsinger officiating and burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Masonic rites will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday.
